MamboIDE is an integrated development environment for the Mambo project
written in C# running on the .Net Framework. I begun work on the
MamboIDE project in January 2005 after planning for the previous couple
of months. With the Mambo/Joomla split I have ignored this project in favour of the JCode project, an Eclipse powered Joomla! IDE.
MamboIDE aims to help provide a Mambo development tool for people new
to Mambo and to get them developing as quickly as possible. MamboIDE
achieves this by providing an easy to use GUI that can be used to
generate PHP files, database classes and installers for use with Mambo.
At the other end of the scale, and complimenting it, is Andrew Eddie's
Designer project. Whilst MamboIDE is primarily aimed newer developers
(or those starting a new project), Designer is aimed at providing tools
for experienced Mambo developers. Whilst MamboIDE is a standalone .Net
application, Designer is a Mambo component and fits into Mambo itself.
