In March 2008, eight local government council's in the Darling Downs, including Toowoomba, merged into the Toowoomba Regional Council. Toowoomba Regional Council formed to join together many parts of the organisation with the aim of reducing expenses for the region and reducing duplication of effort.
With Toowoomba Regional Council I worked on the following tasks:
- PHP/MySQL Development (including Joomla!) and refactoring of existing systems
- Web site management (including DNS updates, mail configuration, Apache configuration and PHP/MySQL deployment).
- Authentication authorisation systems (including working Novell eDirectory and MSAD via LDAP; crafting home made solutions to individual problems such as Pentaho integration with MySQL and LDAP)
- Linux system administration and maintenance including compilation of software (e.g. Apache/PHP)
- Pentaho Business Intelligence configuration
- Experience with Citrix, Lotus Notes, MS Office 2003 and OpenOffice.org
